Lack of Space and Hygiene

Hilcona’s continuous growth presented the company with an infrastructural challenge:

The existing locker room solution could no longer meet increasing demands. Rising employee numbers coincided with limited available space, while strict hygiene regulations in food production required a clear separation between workwear and personal clothing. It quickly became apparent that conventional lockers were unable to meet these complex requirements. Initial concerns were also raised regarding the Zippsafe solution. While the required number of changing stations could be achieved, the high standards in terms of hygiene, order, and safety were not fully met. A specialized locker bag designed specifically for the food industry was therefore needed.

The F&B Locker Bag

The F&B Locker Bag is an enhanced adaptation of the existing Zippsafe locker bag, incorporating several new features. Most notably, it is equipped with a firmly tensioned internal divider that guarantees a consistent physical separation between workwear and personal clothing. Elastic stitching at the bottom keeps the divider permanently taut while allowing garments to be stored easily and conveniently. Three transparent viewing windows provide additional safety and control: two windows at shoulder height allow visual inspection of hanging garments at any time, while a third window in the lower section offers a clear view into the internal pocket. The concept is further complemented by an additional hook that allows a second hanger. This enables both street clothing and workwear to be stored separately in a hanging position within the bag.

Space-Saving, Hygienic, and Digital

By installing eight ZippSpace Comfort Large systems, Hilcona was able to create 120 changing stations within a very short time and effectively resolve the acute space shortage in its changing rooms. At the same time, the specially developed F&B Locker Bags ensure that the complex hygiene requirements of food production are reliably met.

The system is supported by the Zippsafe Management System, which enables digital and efficient management of locker room capacities and significantly reduces administrative effort. For Hilcona, the new locker solution represents not only immediate operational relief but also a long-term investment in order, hygiene, and efficiency.
